The common attitudes in IMVU user community

Hmmm, honestly I see AP users as cautious and un-trusting of the GA community I know there are times I do it too for the simple fact that most of my encounters with GA users are negative. (only wanting to cyber and not knowing the TOS) I often See GA users come in to a GA room and they start triggering off the bat and hugging everyone with not a single word said until they are finally booted. I do remember a time when I was GA but it was a very short period of time because I didn't like being treated as if I was a child and undeserving of a chat with someone. So from both perspectives they are both doggy dog worlds and you just have to know when to get out of dodge. lol

I can also confirm that, because I made a GA public room that became fairly popular, but also a LOT of work. I then asked in an AP public room if I should have any GA public rooms or not. One guy's answer was pretty apt in my experience: "If you want noobs".

I thought of making a mall public room SL style (clickable "try on" billboards and all that) if my catalog ever becomes large enough, though I'm not entirely sure if having it as AP only would be an advantage or not.

Lack of respect for roleplay and creative activities.

Idling for hours in rooms with their friends and kicking new people who 'don't talk'.

It would seem like some people in IMVU think that trolling is roleplay... from the perspective of a heavy roleplayer, not exactly true. Roleplay doesn't mean purposely being an ass to your co-players.

There is also some ageists left in IMVU, though we make their items, with a great deal of experience I might add. But if they say that, they're also turning a blind eye to the creative aspect.

Or just booting for no given reason. I went into a beach GA room with no specific rules in the description. I put on my swimwear (which I thought wasn't inappropriate, because it's a beach) and I suddenly got booted after being told "can I help you"?

AP public rooms are more reasonable in many ways, and they're not always about the meat market either - many are perfectly clean and just want the adults in. I deleted my GA public room and from now on I'll just make all my groups and public rooms AP. Maybe also partially as a protest that in the Discussions they got rid of the AP forums.

I guess I'm one of the few adults that doesn't have AP. But then , I don't chat much either. From what I'm reading here I'm not sure I'd want to. lol

The few chat's I've had (within the last few years) have been either private invite one on one conversation or brief exchanges in a public room. The public rooms sometimes I see the base avatar and wonder if it is on purpose or because they are wearing something AP. The public room exchanges seldom go beyond "hi". Everyone seems to be either parked and silent or dot hopping like me.

People who think / act superior to others / new ones just "grinds my gears ", i often jump in to protect the new ones against the so called "i am a bully because i am on here for years and i can do everything i want " people. I am on imvu for almost 10 years, i dont feel superior, and i dont act like it. I just like to share the knowledge about imvu to the new people instead to make them feel welcome. The same thing happened to me when i joined imvu, and i felt very welcome.
